XIII. TENANTS' COMMENTS
For the interest of prospective Tenants, we have included below a range
of comments which our Tenants have inscribed in our Tourreau "Guest Book".

This photograph (to
the right) is of a collection of pre World War II classic Citroen
cars. On the day of their departure, their cars were used to
transport Microsoft, Germany's "incentive group"
clients to a marvellous restaurant nearby, and then on to the
Airport. |

C’est magnifique! The perfect
setting for our family reunion. We came from California, Munich,
Germany and Florence, Italy and we don’t want to leave! Pool games,
shopping trips, wine tasting, cicadas singing, guitars playing and
lots of love.

What a wonderful time we have had at your Château Estate! We have visited
the most beautiful corners of the world, but never have we
experienced a place as magical as Château de Tourreau. From
six-year-old Marco to seventy-six-year-old Pa (plus or minus a
couple of years), we all had the ultimate vacation. It was a
pleasure to have the opportunity to meet you, and we look forward to
seeing you in the future.

Never in my life have I experienced such a wonderful exposure to a
beautiful home and surrounding culture. The two weeks we spent here
was simply a tease into this amazing region of Provence. I will
never forget this awesome place. Incredible! And, as a UCLA water
polo player, I must say the pool was the most beautiful I have ever
seen. Honestly! I cannot imagine another vacation spot that could be
better. Great wine, great people, great countryside. I had the time
of my life. Thank you!

We
very much enjoyed staying in your Château with such a nice blend of
western and oriental art and furniture and with such a homely
atmosphere – an ideal place for a family reunion! The very kind and
dedicated staff made our stay even more pleasant who never seem to
get tired of being perfect hosts and who treat the property as if it
were their own. We wouldn’t mind borrowing Sebastien now and then…

We
had the most wonderful time here at Tourreau. With our families
spread over California, Netherlands, Israel, Spain and soon
Australia, the only way to see each other is on this kind of
occasion. We can’t think of a better place, so many activities
around the house, a beautiful environment, dedicated staff, charming
cities and villages, an abundance of cultural events, great food and
wine and the very kind personal attention of both of you. Thank you
and hope to meet you in person in the future.

Many thanks for a most memorable experience you have provided us at
Tourreau. Having just finished building a vacation house in the
U.S., we are particularly appreciative of the great level of
dedication and passion it must have taken you to be able to achieve
the first-class outcome at your home, with the most beautiful
facilities, awesome grounds and inspiring surroundings. We hope you
will visit us in the U.S. soon.

My
alter ego Frasier Crane once said, “If less is more, think of how
much more more will be”. I don’t have to think about it any
more, I have lived it here at your amazing home. Sumptuous feasts,
violin concerts in the chapel, croquet in our whites on the lawn,
ballooning, bicycling, and aperitif each night in a more beautiful
location. I want more… more… more!
Thanks so much.

To
say that we are besotted by Tourreau, your wonderful home, is to
state the obvious. Like many others before us, we are overwhelmed!
Unable to avoid the standard clichés (no less justifiable for
that!). The style and individuality, the refinement and restraint (a
sense of understated beauty) and the comfort and unselfconscious
ambience it exudes, we must resort to the “mots justes” of others,
like Sydney Smith who, writing at the turn of the 18th
century observed:
“If a comfortable house is a great source of happiness – it ranks
immediately after health and a clear conscience”!
Clearly, the appeal of your home emanates in part from its position
in this quite sublime Provencal landscape where, despite the turmoils of the past 250 years, it has remained rooted to its chosen
spot. Knowing you both, how could we be disappointed and the
mounting excitement on arrival in the approaches of Sarrians (“The
aesthetic quality in the subtle building of suspense”) spilled over
on first glimpsing that perfectly proportionate façade through the
canopy of plane trees.
But you have worked your own special alchemy here and how blessed
was this region to play host to your combined tastes and vision! It
is said, with some conviction, that the English (and, since
Napoleon, the French!) have excelled in acquiring things – booty in
those days! –
from the countries they visited – and historically – colonized! Your
decorative/artistic talents in bringing together a fusion of old and
new, breathing new life into each segment of Tourreau, are visible
throughout.
Your house will remain with us, always a place of wonder, born out
of countless setbacks and disappointments but “beauty is truth,
truth beauty” – that’s all you need to know.
To conclude; “look back down the years and try to recall, if you
can, all those temperate times. You will find they are distilled
into a head full of thoughts – and a handful of summers”.
Our brief, late summer odyssey 2002, at Tourreau will remain and
rank up there with the best.
With abiding thanks to you both.

I’m back! For my wedding, what a magical day it was. Your home made
me feel very special and lucky to be able to enjoy life. Tones of
thanks to Marie-Thérèse and Michael, your Chef; Sebastien, and the
rest of your staff too.

Tourreau gave our family a chance to live like royalty. The Château
is a beautiful place for sure, but it is Michael and Marie-Thérèse,
along with the wonderful staff that made it the most special place
that we have ever been to!
Many, many thanks.
